Deck My Halls with Lights, and Ornaments, and Shiny New Dresses

Trees have tinsel and ornaments; windows are frosted with faux snow; houses and yards get lights and displays. What is it about the holidays that make us want to deck the halls of our lives?
Who cares? I’m going shopping this weekend for a new sparkly dress … or maybe two!
