Stolen Designer Clothes from ‘Lipstick Jungle’ Wardrobe Show Up on eBay
To have a successful shot at being a criminal mastermind, one must understand the concept of laundering. Any average Jane or Joe that watches TV and movies knows that if you acquire goods or money in an illegal manner you have to be discreet about your new found assets.

Apparently, Lipstick Jungle’s 27-year-old stage manager Arthur Moreira hadn’t been clued in on this seemingly common knowledge. After stealing 16 designer items worth almost $30,000 from the show’s wardrobe, which was filled with borrowed items that designers expected returned in good condition, Moreira posted them on eBay.
Employees of French designer Sylvia Toledano are credited with first discovering the fraud when they noticed items that they had lent to Lipstick Jungle up for auction. But Moreira’s guilt was solidified when he welcomed undercover cops into his apartment, which was filled with the stolen goods, and proceeded to make a sale. Other items up for auction included sequined mosaic clutches, an Oscar de la Renta snakeskin bag, and Gucci coats.
