The Future’s So Bright. . . .
I have a thing for sunglasses. I have more pairs than anyone I know- the cheap ones thrown haphazardly on my vanity with my jewelry box, the expensive ones (there are much fewer of those) in hard cases with labels, just like my expensive shoes. And every year, about this time, as I shop for spring and summer, I start thinking. What will I invest in this year? What pair is going to join those in the hard cases with labels?
There are a couple of contenders, this year.
I usually go for the newest, the trendiest, the coolest, and these Trina Turks are a few seasons old. But they are cute. Very sleek and futuristic, which is a big trend for spring, but with a simplicity that makes them eminently wearable. These are on-trend sunglasses that you could wear everyday, and that’s not something that comes along often. At Bluefly.com
It’s difficult to see in the photo, but these glasses are blinged out. All along the edges of the frames and the temples there are little rhinestones, packed in tight to create a smooth line. And somehow, despite an overload of glam, they manage to not be over-the-top. Yeah, they’re fancy and I probably wouldn’t wear them with my Saturday morning breakfast uniform of velour sweatpants and a wifebeater, but they are just the right amount of glam for a chi-chi brunch or afternoon cocktails. Now these. . .these are classics. These are everyday, wow-these-go-with-everything sunglasses. These are the ones I’m most likely to actually buy, I think, because I’m a busy girl and these are failsafe. The most flattering shape for most faces (including an oval-bordering-on-round, like me), they also come in black or tortoise, meaning you could buy 2 pairs and be set for pretty much the rest of your life. Personally? I’d go with the first ones. Not sure why…then again I don’t know exactly what your face looks like or what your lifestyle’s like, but judging on looks alone I’d go with that first pair.
